CIMMYT and Ethiopia: helping farmers achieve higher yields and incomes

Notably, CIMMYT’s efforts have led to a more than two-fold increase in wheat production and a three-fold increase in maize production. These crops are vital, as they together contribute to nearly 49% of Ethiopia’s cereal output. This progress underscores the importance of maize and wheat in ensuring food security and supporting the agricultural economy in Ethiopia.”
