The International
Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit two (02) dynamic and experienced Research
Associate-Agronomist to ensure the field activities and support the
implementation of the Sweet Recovery Project (SWRP) that is currently
implemented in ten districts in southern Madagascar, with Agronomists serving
as the backbone of project implementation at the district level. Agronomists
are pivotal to the project's success, implementing, supporting and coordinating
activities at the district level.
The Position: These positions will report to the Project coordinator. They will be based in Betroka and Ampanihy
respectively.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct field visits and provide
technical assistance on OFSP cultivation.
· Organize and deliver farmer training
sessions and on-farm demonstrations.
· Collect and analyze data; prepare and
submit progress reports.
· Build relationships with communities,
authorities, and stakeholders.
· Collaborate with project staff and
partners to ensure effective implementation.
Requirements
Selection Criteria
· Master’s degree in Agronomy, Biology,
Nutrition, or related area.
· At least 6 years of experience required.
· Knowledge of modern agricultural
techniques and technologies.
· Skills in training smallholder farmers,
especially using participatory approaches.
· Experience in agricultural extension,
working with smallholder farms.
· Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as
part of a team.
· Strong organizational and time
management skills.
· Proficiency in data collection, analysis
and reporting.
· Proficiency in computer skills,
including MS Office.
· Willingness to travel to remote areas
and work under challenging conditions.
