The International
Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit one (1) dynamic and experienced Logistics
Officer to manage high-volume and complex purchases, ensure local procurement
compliance, and support tax requirements in alignment with donor guidelines.
This role will help streamline operations and maintain segregation of duties
between finance and procurement.
The Position: The selected candidate will be based in Antananarivo and
will report to the Logistic Manager and the Finance and administrative Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide senior-level support to logistics
operations in Madagascar, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to
standard processes.
· Build strong relationships with global
partners, Principal Investigators, and senior managers to align functional
objectives.
· Collaborate with internal clients in
Madagascar to optimize operations, improve service levels, maintain supply
chain efficiency, and reduce costs.
· Manage local logistics suppliers through due
diligence, ensuring they function as extensions of the company for value
delivery.
· Design and implement improvements to global
processes, aligning with Logistics Headquarters policies to establish best
practices.
· Respond to technical queries and support
requests, ensuring timely and high-standard client service in Madagascar.
· Compile logistics reports to monitor trends,
opportunities, and challenges in supply chain management, sourcing, and
supplier management.
· Ensure compliance with CIP health and safety
policies.
· Oversee bidding processes, ensuring
transparent evaluations, bid preparation, and contract negotiations.
· Source and evaluate suppliers locally and
globally through market research, networking, and supplier databases to meet
quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Requirements
· Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration,
Engineering, or related field.
· 6 years of professional experience in a
similar position.
· Knowledge of budget principles and financial
management.
· Proven logistics management skills.
· Experience in supply chain management.
· Proficiency in inventory control.
· Strong procurement and supplier management
skills.
· Advanced negotiation abilities.
