I-Youth expands to Jigawa as Governor pledges full support

The Innovative Youth in Agriculture (I-Youth) project paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, the Governor of Jigawa State, Nigeria, as part of efforts to expand the project’s activities to the state. This visit underlines the project’s commitment to promoting access to dignified and fulfilling work for youths in Jigawa State by empowering young people with the skills and resources to participate actively in the agricultural sector.
The government’s support is crucial to successfully implement the project’s objectives in Jigawa, as it can facilitate the mobilization of local resources and stakeholders.
During the visit, Project Executive Manager Aline Mugisho reviewed IITA’s initiatives addressing unemployment and food security by engaging youth in modern and profitable agribusiness. She highlighted the project’s goal of improving Jigawa’s agricultural sector and enhancing its economic viability by equipping youth with the necessary skills and competencies.
