CGIAR EMD recognized as one of the most influential Africans of 2023

CGIAR’s Executive Managing Director, Dr. Ismahane Elouafi, has been named among the 100 Most Influential Africans in 2023.
The New African Most Influential Africans list recognises and celebrates the achievements and contributions of Africans from various fields and sectors who have made a positive impact on the continent and the world.
Other names on the list of the 100 most influential Africans include the President of the Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, the President of the Republic of Kenya, William Ruto, the President of the African Development Bank Group, Akinwumi Adesina, the President of Afreximbank, Benedict Oramah, Aliko Dangote, and Burna Boy.
The New African Most Influential Africans list credits Dr. Elouafi’s scientific work to “combat agricultural attrition due to the climate crisis.” The magazine also cites her efforts to promote neglected and underutilised crops, the use of non-fresh water in agriculture, and the empowerment of women in science.
