The partnership between the UAE and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to advance climate-resilient agriculture through AI marks a significant leap in scaling agricultural innovations to over 500 million smallholder households.

The initiatives funded under this collaboration, including those at CGIAR, focus on providing smallholder farmers in vulnerable regions with innovative tools such as AI-driven weather forecasting, pest management, and advisory services.

These solutions aim to bridge the gap between research and practical application, helping farmers adapt to climate change while boosting productivity and sustainability.

“This partnership is significant because it’s going to help us to close these gaps quickly. CGIAR has been producing research for years and years, but we have to close the window of time needed between quality science delivered and how quickly we can put it in the hands of the people,” Khuloud Odeh – Global Director, Digital & Data at CGIAR said about this partnership.
