CGIAR’s Genetic Innovation (GI) Science Group, has entered into an agreement with AfricaRice, marking a new partnership for impact which will enhance the effective implementation of GI in West and Central Africa, particularly through Breeding and Research Services (BRS).
BRS offers essential and advanced services to crop breeders worldwide, including genotyping, agronomic practices and engineering support, digital solutions, breeding analytics, and business process management. Establishing a BRS hub at AfricaRice marks a significant advancement in GI’s work in Western and Central Africa and paves the way for future expansion within the continent. This hub will support CGIAR crop breeders and national and regional organizations developing improved crop varieties in the region.

You will also learn more about BRS service offering, and a keynote address will present a new instance of the Enterprise Breeding Systems (EBS) exclusively dedicated to African National Agriculture Research and Extension Systems (NARES) crop breeding teams.
