About the webinar

Date: October 17, 2024

CGIAR biometrical genetics workflow, or Breeding Analytics Pipeline, enables users to access methods for understanding or using evolutionary dynamics (mutation, gene flow, migration, and selection) such as automatic state-of-the-art genetic evaluation (selection force) in decision making. Designed to be database agnostic, it can retrieve data from the available breeding databases (EBS, BMS, BreedBase), genotypic databases (GIGWA), and environmental databases (NASAPOWER) and carry out analytic procedures.

Funded by GIZ through the Crops to End Hunger project and developed by the Breeding Analytics Team within CGIAR Breeding Resources Initiative, in collaboration with Accelerated Breeding Initiative, the tool is tailored for organizational leaders, breeders, geneticists, and technicians, providing essential tools for data cleaning, single-trial quality assurance, and multi-trial analysis using genomic and environmental data, and more.

Join us on October 17 for the official launch of CGIAR Breeding Analytics Pipeline. The event will feature presentations by the Breeding Analytics Team, testimonials from CGIAR and partner breeders and live demonstrations showcasing the capabilities of the tool.

• To join: Check your inbox for an invitation or send an email to j.puech@cgiar.org
• Presenter/s: Breeding Analytics Teams, Bioflow early adopters and funders
• Target audiences: CGIAR/NARES crop breeding staff and other interested parties
• Date/time/duration: 15 October 2024 / 12 GMT / 60 minutes

Objectives

The webinar aims to:

  • Raise awareness within the breeding community (breeders, leads, and donors) about the operational status of the breeding analytics pipeline.
  • Showcase the platform in presentation highlighting its strengths, capabilities, and future prospects.
  • Facilitate open discussions with breeding leads on adoption expectations, with breeders on development needs, with donors on additional requirements.
