The conference celebrates the International Year of Millets 2023 (IYM 2023) and aims to promote the cultivation and consumption of millets globally.
About MSSRF
The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), established in 1988, is a not-for-profit trust envisioned by Professor M S Swaminathan. MSSRF aims to harness science and technology for sustainable and equitable development, focusing on food and nutritional security, environmental sustainability, and agribusiness. Our initiatives contribute to advancing agriculture and managing natural resources, both locally and globally.
In India, MSSRF collaborates with the agricultural and natural resource management sectors to create knowledge and improve workforce skills. This helps those committed to agriculture advance their individual aspirations, contribute to local and regional prosperity, and exercise responsible stewardship of the environment.
About the conference
The conference is a key event of the International Year of Millets 2023. It aims to highlight millet’s nutritional properties and environmental benefits, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World is One Family).
It will provide a platform for exploring innovative research and development initiatives, increasing awareness, and improving the livelihoods of millet farmers.
