The G7 Ministers’ Meeting on Agriculture will take place from September 26 to 28, 2024, at the Castello Maniace in Siracusa, Italy.
The meeting, chaired by Francesco Lollobrigida, Italy’s Minister of Agriculture, will gather G7 Ministers, the European and African Union Commissioners for Agriculture, and leaders from UN agencies, FAO, IFAD, and WFP.
About the event
The event will focus on building resilient and sustainable food systems, addressing key areas like climate change adaptation, empowering youth in agriculture, and supporting African agricultural development.
The G7 Forum for African Agriculture will focus on strengthening G7-Africa cooperation, addressing the post-Malabo Agenda, and discussing agricultural investments. Youth Hackathon participants will present their ideas on sustainable agriculture and innovation to the Ministers during the event. From September 21 to 29, 2024, the DiviNazione Public Exhibit will also showcase Italy’s agricultural excellence and cutting-edge technologies.
CGIAR Participation
Guillaume Grosso, Deputy Executive Managing Director, and Juan Lucas Restrepo, Director General of the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), will be key participants at the event.
