The CGIAR Initiative on Foresight will host its second Foresight Partnership Forum and Training in Kathmandu, Nepal, on April 16-19. The event titled “Informing Choices Today to Improve the Food Systems of Tomorrow” will bring together key Initiative partners from Asia, Africa, and Latin America to explore challenges facing food, land, and water systems at national, regional, and global scales; identify opportunities to share and strengthen capacity for foresight; and examine ways to use foresight tools and analysis to inform policy making. Specific objectives include strengthening the Foresight partnership network, sharing results from the latest foresight research and analysis, and advancing work toward collaborative outputs.
The Forum on 16-17 April will be followed by a training session on the International Model for Policy Analysis of Agricultural Commodities and Trade (IMPACT) on 18-19 April. The training, facilitated by experts from IFPRI and other partner organizations, will equip participants with practical skills and tools to analyze policy impacts on agricultural commodities and trade.
