We are thrilled to announce that Professor Lindiwe Majele Sibanda, Chair of the CGIAR System Board, has been awarded the prestigious MS Swaminathan Global Leadership Award for Sustainable Development. This accolade honors her remarkable contributions to sustainable agriculture and development.
The MS Swaminathan Global Leadership Award, named after the visionary scientist and pioneer of India’s Green Revolution, Professor MS Swaminathan, celebrates exceptional leadership and dedication to sustainable agricultural practices. Professor Swaminathan’s legacy inspires efforts to combat food insecurity and promote sustainability worldwide.
The award was announced on July 10, 2024, during the 15th Agriculture Leadership Summit in New Delhi. Distinguished attendees, including Ambassador Kenneth Quinn, President Emeritus of the World Food Prize Foundation, celebrated Professor Sibanda’s achievements. The official award presentation will take place on August 7, 2024, in Chennai, coinciding with Prof. MS Swaminathan’s birthday. Professor Sibanda will deliver an address at the International Conference on Hunger Free World, sharing her insights and vision for sustainable agriculture’s future.
Join us in celebrating Professor Sibanda’s leadership and commitment to creating a hunger-free world through sustainable development. She will be participating as a speaker on both days.
