The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will be held from Monday, 8 July, to Wednesday, 17 July 2024, under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council, in New York, United States.

The theme will be “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient, and innovative solutions.”

About the HLPF

The HLPF is the central United Nations platform for the global follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and was established by the 2030 Agenda and General Assembly resolution 70/299.

In 2024, the high-level political forum on sustainable development convened under the auspices of ECOSOC will be held from Monday, 8 July, to Friday, 12 July 2024. The high-level segment of the Council, including the three-day ministerial segment of the HLPF, will be held from Monday, 15 July, to Thursday, 18 July 2024.

CGIAR participation

CGIAR Executive Managing Director Ismahane Elouafi will participate in the HLPF 2024 OCP official side event on July 9th in New York.

IFPRI’s Senior Director for Transformation Strategies Channing Arndt will participate in a high-level panel discussion on “Food Security & Food System Resilience” at the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens and Kofi Annan Foundation’s side event on July 16th in Austria. Check back for updates.
