Resilient Cities
Research activities: Strengthening research and innovation capacity
Resilient Cities is compiling, adapting and developing improved and efficient research tools, metrics and methodologies for analyzing and monitoring urban food system development. Working with local universities, the team aims to strengthen the capacity of researchers and public and civil society organizations to apply these tools and improve accountability of pertinent policy and investment processes. Similarly, Resilient Cities supports local universities to establish “Lean Launchpad” programs for urban agrifood startup enterprises to scale up marketable innovations. At global level, collaboration with city networks and their food sector programs is facilitating South-South exchange and learning, supported through a virtual Center of Excellence for Urban Food Systems Research.
