Research activities: Tools and processes for protecting food chains
Two innovations aim to reduce mycotoxin contamination to protect health, increase food and feed safety, enhance trade, diversify end-use, and boost income:
- Integrated mycotoxin management with pre- and post-harvest innovations and a traceability system from field to fork; and
- Aflasafe®, a bioprotectant against aflatoxin. Deployment is focused on areas of increased vulnerability due to changes in climate and agricultural practice, and also where demand exists and there is capacity for scaling solutions.
