Rachel Kyte, CGIAR Fund Council Chair
At its 6th meeting held in Rome, Italy on November 9, 2011, the CGIAR Fund Council unanimously approved the appointment of Rachel Kyte as new CGIAR Fund Council Chair. She succeeds outgoing Fund Council Chair Inger Andersen. Rachel Kyte, a UK national, was appointed World Bank Vice President for Sustainable Development in September 2011. Prior to leading the Sustainable Development vice-presidency, she served as Vice President for Business Advisory Services at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector focused arm of the World Bank Group. She succeeds outgoing Fund Council Chair Inger Andersen.
